a "balanced flue" heater or fireplace is one whose main feature is that it doesn't require a full
chimney, despite the fact that it burns ordinary natural gas. The reason for this, is what gives it its name:
air _intake_, as well as exhaust, is through the single flue, hence "balanced". (they do still need to be fitted to 
an external wall, though)
